Men of the Forest movie shows us the dreadful current situation that orangutans are facing right before our very eyes.
The film crew will follow a group of local Indonesian people who have founded an NGO to fight against habitat destruction, bush fires, illegal pet trade, etc. They also ensure the rescue of endangered orangutans.
A small group of people who is making a big difference with their actions, even though they have to pay a high price: risking their personal lives.
Their goal is to create sustainable balance among wildlife, habitat and local communities. In order to protect wildlife, they run some very effective project such as habitat reconstruction and local community education programmes.
Chimpanzees, gorillas, orangutans have been living for hundreds of thousands of years in their forest,
living fantastic lives, never overpopulating, never destroying the forest.
I would say that they have been in a way more successful
than us as far as being in harmony with the environment.
